The visit of the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) experts to Azerbaijan in the field of television, radio and mobile communications has ended.  

 

From June 27 to July 1, 2022, discussions were held on the adaptation of television, radio and mobile communication networks in the border areas to international standards. Within the framework of the discussions, the issues on impacts of broadcasts of neighboring countries within the territory of the country was discussed with the ITU experts. In order to regulate these broadcasts within the framework of international requirements, the relevant provisions in the normative legal documents adopted by the International Telecommunication Union and relevant sollutions were proposed by ITU experts.

 

Within the framework of the visit, the ITU experts also organized seminars on the international regulation of television, radio, mobile and fixed communication services for the experts of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies, Radio-Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication” Production Union, Azercosmos OJSC, as well as for the mobile operators.

 

It was decided to continue cooperation with ITU for the regulation of TV, radio and mobile communication networks in the border areas.

 

It should be noted that according to the agreement reached with the International Telecommunication Union, two experts of the ITU in the field of terrestrial services visited Baku for a week to hold discussions with Azerbaijani experts. 

 

The purpose of the discussions is to familiarize the ITU experts with interferences to the country's air broadcast, as well as to jointly determine solutions for the regulation of broadcasts in border areas in accordance with international requirements by taking into account the experience of the world countries.
