Being subordinated to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies is a state organization that fulfils managerial responsibilities on issues of radio frequencies being utilized for civil purposes within the Republic of Azerbaijan. The activity of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies encompasses allocation of radio frequencies and radio frequency channels Being subordinated to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies is a state organization that fulfils managerial responsibilities on issues of radio frequencies being utilized within the Republic of Azerbaijan. The activity of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies encompasses allocation of radio frequencies and radio frequency channels to legal and physical persons, effective usage of radio frequencies, provision of electromagnetic compatibility of radio electronic facilities and high frequency devices, protection of radio frequency spectrum, as well as implementation of wide range of other relevant organisational and technical measures.

 

  •  1968 

July 10th - According to Decision # 342 of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic, the State Administration of Radio Frequencies was established as a group operating within organization “Technical Radio Control Station”.  The main function of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies was the observation of requirements of existing regulatory documents on radio communication services and measurement of electromagnetic field strength.

September 26th - The structure of “Technical Radio Control Station” organization was approved by Decision # 253 of the Ministry of Communications of the Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republic. 

 

  • 1977 

“The State Inspection of Electrical Communications” was established within the Ministry of Communications in accordance with the decision of Communist Party's Central Committee of Azerbaijan and the order of the Ministry of Communications.

 

  • 1979 

 “The Technical Radio Control Station” was subordinated to “The State Inspection of Electrical Communication”.

 

  • 1988 

November 5th – “The Centre for Electromagnetic Compatibility of Radio Electronic Facilities” was established on the basis of “The Technical Radio Control Station”.

 

  • 1998 

July 9th - The Centre for Electromagnetic Compatibility of Radio Electronic Facilities was publicly registered as the State Administration of Radio Frequencies on the basis of certificate # D-213B of the Ministry of Justice.

 

  • 2004

Radio control stations were put into operation in Ganja, Masalli  and Gabala.

 

  • 2005

Radio control stations were put into operation in Shirvan  and Guba.

 

  • 2007

Radio control stations were put into operation in Astara, Beylagan, Zagatala and Gazakh 

 

  • 2007 

February 1st - Decision #22 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on approving “Rules on allocation, registration, use of radio frequencies and specification of payment” was adopted.

 

  • 2007 

November - The Republic of Azerbaijan was included in the European Broadcasting Area during the 2007 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07) held in Geneva, Switzerland.

 

  • 2007

 At the WRC-07 conference held in Geneva, Azerbaijan was admitted to the European Broadcasting zone, changes in the allocation of frequencies between radio services in the radio frequencies table were taken into account, as well as work on the coordination, allocation and coordination of channels with the countries was carried out in connection with the transition to digital broadcasting.

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 15, 1996, in order to improve the use of frequency resources, the Secretariat of the State Commission for Radio Frequencies was established in the structure of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies (SARF).

 

  • 2008

The 64th meeting of the Working Group on Radio Frequency Management was held in Baku.

 

  • 2014

The construction of a new building for the Ganja Broadcasting Radio Control Office of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies (SARF) in accordance with modern requirements was completed and inaugurated.

 

  • 2018

The State Administration of Radio Frequencies exhibited modern radio monitoring, comparative analysis of mobile communication services and other similar systems and technologies within the Bakutel 2018, the 24th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies Exhibition and Conference to create conditions for the application of the latest information and communication technologies in the country.
