Coordination meeting between Azerbaijan and Russian communications administrations ends
The meeting on coordination of TV, radio and other terrestrial services between the communications administrations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation concluded its work in Guba.
During the meeting, frequencies and other technical parameters of FM radio stations in the border areas were agreed, the organization of new generation mobile communication services in the 700 MHz, 3.4–3.7 GHz and other frequency bands stipulated by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) was discussed. At the same time, the technical parameters of the mobile networks to be used by mobile operators from both sides were agreed upon to avoid mutual interference and to provide high-quality mobile services.
Discussions were also held on the transition to digital radio broadcasting. In addition, proposals from the Azerbaijani side on the unimpeded and efficient use of channel frequencies allocated by the ITU were presented to the opposite side.
It was also agreed to continue coordination work in the border areas taking into account the decisions of the World Radiocommunication Conference to be held by the ITU this year.
